I. General data protection declaration 

Data protection is all about trust. The protection and security of your personal data is of utmost importance to Liechtenstein Climbing. That is why we only process data about you that is necessary. We do this with the utmost care, not least to protect you from possible misuse.

With this privacy policy, we would like to give you an overview of how your data is processed and your rights under the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Liechtenstein Data Protection Act (LDPA).

As stated, we only process the necessary data. This data is collected and stored when you become a member of Liechtenstein Climbing or when you register for an event.

Without this data, we would not be able to perform our tasks. It is possible that we may process data that has not been collected directly from you, but rather from third parties, publicly available sources, or other data subjects.

Data processing is generally carried out at your request and is necessary in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Your data is also processed to fulfill legal obligations (Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR) or in the public interest (Art. 6 (1) (e) GDPR).

In addition, your data is processed for specific purposes to safeguard the legitimate interests of us or third parties (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), in particular to fulfill the rights of data subjects (e.g., right to information), to ensure IT security and IT operations, and to ensure building and facility security.

Furthermore, your data may be processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. However, the withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the data processed until the withdrawal.

We reserve the right to further process personal data collected for one of the above purposes for other purposes if these are compatible with the original purpose or are permitted or required by law.

3. Recipients or categories of recipients of personal data 

Within Liechtenstein Climbing, employees may only process your data if they need it to fulfill our contractual, legal, and regulatory obligations and to protect legitimate interests. For these purposes, third parties may also receive personal data, including processors in areas such as IT services, logistics, or printing services.

Your personal data may also be passed on to third parties if this is necessary for the fulfillment of our tasks. 

4. Transfer of personal data to third countries 

Data will only be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (so-called third countries) within the framework of adequacy decisions by the European Commission or if this is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures or the fulfillment of a contract or the provision of services, you have given us your express consent (e.g. in the context of special services), this is necessary for important reasons of public interest, or this is required by law.

5. Duration of storage of personal data 

The personal data we collect is generally stored until the expiry of the statutory retention period and then deleted, unless we believe that longer storage is necessary in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR due to tax, corporate, or regulatory storage and documentation obligations (see especially LDPA), or you have consented to further storage in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Further processing and storage may also take longer for reasons of preserving evidence, for example, during the applicable limitation periods.

6. Data protection rights 

As a data subject, you have the right to obtain information about your personal data at any time, in particular its origin and recipients and the purpose of data processing. You also have the right to rectification, data transfer, objection, restriction of processing, or deletion of incorrect or unlawfully processed data.

If there are any changes to your personal data, please notify us accordingly.

You have the right to revoke your consent to the use of your personal data at any time. You can exercise your right to information, deletion, correction, objection, and/or data transfer by contacting the address listed in point 1 of this statement.

If you believe that our processing of your personal data violates applicable data protection law or that your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you have the option of lodging a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Liechtenstein, the Data Protection Authority is responsible for this.

You can tell if a single page of our website is being transmitted in encrypted form by the closed display of the key or lock symbol in the address bar of your browser and by the fact that it changes from “http://” to “https://”. In addition, we use other appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction, or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

3. Cookies

We use cookies on our website to make our offering user-friendly. Cookies are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our site. This enables us to recognize your browser the next time you visit.

However, we would like to point out that deactivation will mean that you will not be able to use all the functions of our website. 4. Contact form, registration form, email 

If you fill out a contact or registration form or send us an email or other electronic message, your details will only be stored for the purpose of processing the request or related correspondence and will only be used in connection with the request. The legal basis for processing your request is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. We will delete your email address after completing the request.

5. YouTube with enhanced data protection

This website embeds videos from YouTube. The operator of the site is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

We use YouTube in extended data protection mode. According to YouTube, this mode means that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, the extended data protection mode does not necessarily exclude the transfer of data to YouTube partners. YouTube establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network regardless of whether you watch a video.
