Swiss Bouldering Championships U19 and Elite (Minimum Flüela)
Anna Bärfuss and Jonas Rheinberger competed in the U19 category at this year's Swiss Bouldering Championships. Finishing in 7th and 5th place, respectively, they both qualified for the final round of the top 8. With temperatures exceeding 38 degrees Celsius, they both ended up in 7th place.
Season start for U15 and U17 athletes (Spinnerei Ibach)
Three athletes competed in the first Bächli Bergsport Boulder Youth Climbing Cup. Sofia Busa started the new season with a strong 4th place in the U17 category, missing the podium by one zone. Naomi Müller, newly starting in the U15 category missed out on the final of the best eight by one place finishing 9th. Lio Düsel who start in the U17 category since this year ended the competition in 19th place.
Climbing Team Liechtenstein-Südostschweiz (Team LiSO)
Since January 2026, six athletes have been training in the newly founded Liechtenstein Climbing competition team. Pre-season training is currently underway, and we are looking forward to the first competitions in March.
World Climbing – A new identity for the IFSC
To better represent the global climbing community, the ISFC launched a rebranding campaign and has been officially known as WORLD CLIMBING since December 10 – a name on everyone's lips around the globe.
2025 Swiss Lead Youth Championships U13, U15, U17 (Magnet, Niederwangen)
Jonas Rheinberger finished the national competition season with a solid 7th place in the U17 category.
Bächli Bergsport Youth Climbing Cup (Ap 'n Daun, Chur)
Jonas Rheinberger secured his first podium finish in the U17 Lead category, coming in third. Congratulations!
2025 Youth World Championships Helsinki
At the end of July, young climbers from around the world gathered in Helsinki. Jonas Rheinberger (U17) finished his first major lead climbing competition in an impressive 32nd place. He came 47th in the bouldering competition. In addition to competing, the Liechtenstein Climbing team also volunteered at the event. This gave us valuable experience as referees and belayers.
IFSC Youth European Cup Molde 2025
Jonas Rheinberger (U17) competed in his first international bouldering competition and finished in a respectable 24th place.
IFSC Membership
The Sport Climbing Association Liechtenstein was accepted as the 102nd member of the IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing) on May 14, 2025. Although official ratification by the IFSC General Assembly will not take place until spring 2026 in Riyadh, athletes from Liechtenstein can already participate in IFSC competitions.
Boulder Swiss Championships 2025 (Youth - U13, U15, U17)
This year's Swiss Bouldering Championships took place on April 5 at O'bloc in Ostermundingen.
Jonas Rheinberger qualified for the finals in fifth place out of 18 qualified U17 climbers and defended this position in the finals. We congratulate him on this success!
